The Importance of Vitamin B5 in the Body

Vitamin B5 is pantothenic acid, found in a free form in about 15% of food. It's not something that we use in the body apart from converting it to for phosphopantetine and coenzyme A. There are various genetic defects causing severe problems in the ability to make those conversions. We may be excreting in the urine around 4 milligrams or depending on total body status.
