The Importance of the INR in Chronic Liver Disease
The INR is a very inadequate measure of the risk of bleeding and cirrhosis. It tells us that the liver is working or not, but it doesn't tell us if they're going to bleed or not. In one study there was no difference between people who had their INRs reversed with recombinant factor seven versus those who didn't.
