The Importance of a Nationalistic Narrative of Open Migration Policies
There's a lot more give on the issue of migration skepticism than had previously been a shoot. You've got to frame the issue in terms of this is delivering for our national interest. Canada has some of the most open immigration policies in the world. That kind of narrative, if you can get people to buy it and regard it as credible, then you can maintain pretty high immigration levels without necessarily generating a huge public backlash.
