Is There a Danger in Having a Nuclear Weapon?
Why do we have this wide distribution of social dispositions in the human species, or actually any species? The reason we have it is it makes ous, at a species level, more adaptable to changes in nature. Danger comes when a species has a symmetric power, because then the extremes of the distribution can do enough harm to the rest of the species to essentially wipe the species out. What would human society look like if you could construct a nuclear weapon with common, cheaply available and widely available household items? I we would likely not exist, because there would be some tiny fraction of the human population, which is so pathological, who would use the ability to create nuclear weapons to destroy
