The First English Use of the Word Vulcan

In 1583 Walter Raleigh and his half brother Humphrey Gilbert thought it was a good time to take another shot at establishing a colony there. The book provides the first recorded use of the word Vulcan in English which soon evolved into the word volcano. It also contains the first recorded reference to an armadillo.
