Is There a Gap in the Champions League?

There is possibly of there seems to be enough noise from other top four aspirants or potential teams that there might be a gap. The manner in which Tom Hotspur and Liverpool are playing right now makes me believe there may be a gap for one other team. I don't think the team that finishes fourth has 75 points, I think it might be closer to the 71. Manchester United finished fifth, 69 points and they're playing, and they're further along in their process of 10 hard football.
