Going Postal
Patrick Cheryl killed 14 people at the Edmund, California post office on August 20th, 1986. He carried three guns with him when he went to work that morning and shot his first two victims before killing himself. On May 29, 1989, a monument was erected outside the post office south entrance in honor of those who lost their lives or were injured during this shooting. The memorial includes bronze statues of a man and woman standing atop a pillar in the center of a fountain holding a ribbon of which the bow is attached at its base.
