The Three Bees, Behavior, Belief and Appearance
The jewish community is grappling with, what exactly does that mean? We are more diverse than ever before. We want to find ways to represent that. I think we do a good job at centring black perspectives,. But then we also need to make room for asian american history. And student choice is really the way to accomplish that. The second answer is, when i get to teach the twelfth grade religion elective, i use a framework called the three bees, behavior, belief in belonging. This enables us to think of something like having a strong jewish identity as being religious and not having to have faith that it's true.
