How to Pronounce a Romantic Word in Latin
In modern romance languages like french, the function and characteristics of the word in a sentence is determined by its position. But classical latin doesn't do that - it's all down to suffixes. As languages change, certain letters are more unstable than others. The last letter of a word is very often the one that is most likely to get axed. For american listeners who know a little bit of spanish, it's like when you talke to someone from certain south American countries and you real their not pronouncing the s at the end of words.
