How to Use Compression for Vocals

I like using the side chain compression for vocals versus the music so that I can keep the vocals a little more in the mix without taking too much or making it audible in the music blending. Number two, emulating tape saturation, running audio through a compressor with a high ratio and low threshold to add warmth, harmonic distortion and saturation similar to tape machines. State FET adds third order harmonics like tape. It's not tape, but it adds like transformers adds that third order harmonic sound.
