How to Protect and Preserve the Integrity of Your Teaching
Part of what your responsibility as a teacher to do, in order to honour god's word as god's word, is to understand it in its context. I the opposite of what you're talking aboute, i look at those two verses and i get an idea based on maybe a few words or a sentence,. And i i dive into that, when that really is perhaps then unrelated to the whole. Good commentaries can be helpful in this regard too, because good commentaries will provide an opening, introductory material which will help you understand the book as a whole.
