The Feynman Diagrams and the String Theory

In Feynman diagrams, a particle's history in time would be represented by a line. But then you have a problem because you get these infinities. And this idea of the string theory is now, instead of having the particle being a point, and so its history is a line, the particle here is a loop. The claim is that you actually get rid of your infinities, and that's one of the great strengths.
