The final piece of the puzzle is accountability. External accountability is fantastic but it's hard to find. If you're spending seven hours a week managing someone two levels below you who shouldn't take more than 15 minutes of your day, if that, are you actually helping them? Is this person serious? Are they worth your time? Have they displayed to you that they are? If not, how would a serious person in your position treat this? How can you get them off your plate? So no one like this is on your plate ever again.
