What Is Peer Instruction?

Peer instruction is a social learning pedagogy where an instructor will present a concept and pose a question. The students think of an answer on their own first then turn to their neighbor and discuss that answer. Then finally the instructor reveals either the correct answer or an explanation if it is a question without a correct answer and then leads to a discussion.
