Introduction
A couple of weeks ago, we were talking about Southwest and the fact that it had canceled 16,000 flights over the Christmas holidays. What I made note of was that the Secretary of Transportation said that he was going to launch inquiries into what happened there. And then a couple of days ago, there was another major outage caused by antiquated software that caused 13,000 flight cancellations across the country. Who's responsible? The FAA. We seem to have this double standard regarding government endeavors and private sector endeavors.
