If we really kind of extricate the church from its sort of special divine need to be perfect, then we allow it to be messy and complicated. This kind of alichart approach also helps us because it allows the humans to be human. I have a lot of compassion for how challenging it must be to run a multi million person church. Lots of mistakes are made, as they're made in any kind of institution. All of them are. And the people running them are also allowed to be imperfecttat we run into trouble when we are not allowed to feel that they are imperfect.
