Kyle McRohan's New Path Through the Mountains
Sloan Peak is a prominent mountain in the Northwest Cascades. The West Face of Sloan Peak features a roughly 600 foot snowfield that leads to the summit. Beneath the snowfield, about 1,000 feet of vertical and overhung granite cliffs punctuated by a series of terraces. It's a jagged peak that some people call the Matterhorn the Cascades because it's like the steep rocky summit block, the glacier surrounding it.
