What Is Aphasia?

Aphasia is a language disorder caused by damage to the left side of the brain, typically due to draumatic brain injury or stroke. Garryt's research lab does a lot of work with people who have a disorder called primary progressive ephasia,. which is when some one gradually loses communication abilities due to a nedegenerative disease. The research we do focuses on understanding aphasia and finding ways to support communication for those people with it and their families.
