Elie Azeroyedkowski: Are these machines conscious or sentient in the way that I guess those of us at least on this podcast would agree to define those terms? And another one which we're probably really not going to get into, but which is a big issue, especially in the rationalist community, are they dangerous? Are they going to cause our extinction? Scott Alexander, the blogger, did a little informal poll of different sort of prominent people in therationalist community who think about this stuff. He said it was interesting to me that will AI drive us humanity extinct? One of the estimates of the likelihood ranged from 2%, which is pretty high if you're talking about extinction
