In 1996 there were nine traffic fatalities. Since 2011 in Pontovedra there is no traffic fatalities. People just find it natural to walk everywhere and of course if you're with children you can let them go off on their bicycles without worrying at all really. And what about things like crime? It's been much of a difference in that compared to the old city. The urban transformation started in 1999. From 1999 until nowadays these figures have slowed down dramatically.
