Is There a Selection Problem in Politics?

Politicians, by nature, tend to be over confident. There's some inefficient persistence of over confidence in something as high stakes as our financial markets and our largest corporations. A kind of interactions between people in within a society can increase the pressure to indulge in misperceptions because you don't want to see. And so sometimes our decision making gets better through bureaucratic liket. But i think interpersonal interactions can, in some cases, make this even worse. It has a lot in common with us - we've had all this research about why mutual managers are overconfident. Even the average person on the street probably cound pull off this sort of thing but nobody can tell you how it works
