Clinton's View of Sino-Us Relations Since the 70s

There's some element of truth that it always fell on the US to put aside its concerns about Chinese authoritarianism or human rights abuses. Clinton was deliberately siding with the corporate interests of big American companies who knew that there were huge opportunities for them in integrating their businesses into China. And then I think that moment in the American economy actually sits there dormant, waiting in a sense for a politician to exploit. That politician becomes Donald Trump in the 2016 election.
