I'm increasingly really alarmed by the way trans people in this country are being treated as, I was going to say political football. For the vast majority of the UK population who are cisgender, this doesn't affect us. There's a lot of misinformation circulating around what gender recognition reform would mean. We have to be active as progressive campaigners and politicians to stand up for trans people's rights. That's the bare minimum that people should expect in this country. They may sound like small things, but if it's you and it's your relationship, it's your marriage, then it's just basic dignity.
