Augustus is best known for the Pax Romana, the peace of Rome. The cities in Asia Minor would compete with each other about how best to honor Caesar Augustus. There was an altar in Rome that has now been life-size and it's called the altar of Roman peace. And even an obelisk from Egypt was brought back to demonstrate like we own the world now.
