Sensory Neurons - The Dorsal Root Ganglia
The dorsal rot ganglion selved is an interesting structure for sensory receptors that mediate touch and temperature, pain and so forth. In your skin, there's a neuron whose sill body sits just outside the spinal cord,. It has no dendrites, and it gives rise to a single axon that immediately splits. One part of the axon goes out to the skin and forms little axonal endings which are themselves transduces for the sensory input.
