The Economy Is a New Idea
Economy is a very new idea. 200 years ago, nobody spoke about economy as a concept. The first economics departments emerged in very few places in the end of the nineteenth century and well into the twentieth century. If you want to explain why spain invade id central america and latin America, you don't need an economic narrative. But if you want to look at it from a military perspective, from the perspective of politics, you need something different. You need an economic nalative. So that's a long winded answer to say that,. in order to come to terms with economy, you have to come to Terms with capitalism.
