Aristotle and Plato, the Fathers of Modern Science
Anaxa Mander proposed that there was another basic constituent of matter called Appiron. Aristotle also believed that heavier things fell faster to the ground because they had more of an inherent quality called heaviness or gravitas. But he was proven wrong by Galileo who dropped things of different masses and showed them all accelerating towards the earth at the same speed. Isaac Newton is most well known for discovering gravity, but he has other claims to fame too.
