How to Write Memoirs That Introduce Readers to the People You Love
I had never thought of memoir being a way to introduce readers to the people that you love. I didn't see my parents' lives as this like American tragedy. You know, I experienced them in our life together as so much more complex than that. The most obvious thing about my mother is just like her deep love for me and her faith in me. But she also had an extremely dry and sometimes sarcastic sense of humor. Her overarching goal as a parent was to make me feel like I was enough.
