Introduction
In 2014, John O'Keefe shared the Catholic Prize in Neuroscience with Brenda Milner and Marcus Reichel for their work on covering the special networks in our brains that deal with memory and learning. Same year, he also won the Nobel Prize. Scientific American Custom Media spoke with John about his research and the future of the field. In grad school, John continued experiments by surgically implanted thin wires into the brains of cats and rats as they moved.
