The Rubber Band Effect on Company Earnings Calls
Wall Street Journal says finance chiefs and other executives have significantly quieted down in public settings about their environmental and employee diversity efforts. A lot of these company earnings calls aren't necessarily reflecting last quarters, so there's a rubber band effect. And they're trying to put a public face on what the company is doing. Even though they're not mentioning it as much publicly, they're actually still doing. 70% of CEOs said that getting their ESG scores up improves financial performance.
