The Importance of Empathy in AI
I think that when people are using it positively, they are able to say things to the bot that is helping them summon themselves. Now, I don't want to say that's a bad thing, but that is not empathy. And we shouldn't cheapen what it is to have an empathic experience with another human being by just saying, oh, yeah, that machine's empathic. That's enough. We don't need empathy from people.
