The European Stroke Organization's take on mobile emergency stroke units is not recommended. But it may have a place in certain regions where traditional ambulance transport would result in significant delays to thrombolysis, says Yates. And how about putting a CT scanner on a helicopter to reach very remote communities in areas such as maybe Northern Canada, Norway and so on?
