"Extreme self-sufficiency, I think really limits our ability to connect and to love each other," she says. "I find that women are quicker to certainly open up and to kind of to tell you the problem" Men aren't encouraged to show emotions or sensitivity, which can lead to mental health problems for men in a society where they're expected to be more 'masculine' The rate of suicide among men is higher than it was 30 years ago.
