The Book of Sonia, Part One - A Novel About a Novelist
Sonia was always eager to talk and happy to sort of read what I had been sending her, like once I started working on the book. She knew I was a writer; she knew I was interested in possibly writing about her life. At the end of that first conversation, I more or less had the idea of the book as it is now - just sort of this first person very directly drawn from the transcripts. Yeah, it's kind of amazing as a reader. I almost, I would love to listen to it now, having read it,. It's a bit like a monologue almost, you know, there's something kind of, I found slightly theatrical about it.
