The more you repeat things, like repetition. And the more you build the instrument to ear connection, you're developing muscle memory. The next thing that you're gaining is time feel. You're working on your time feel and your ability to internalize time. That's what leads to people getting lost really easily in solos. A lot of other problems come when we don't have a good time feel.
