Small Claims Court Judges Are Just Like That, Right?

The way in which our current system handles that right now actually strikes me as pretty good. Not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but certainly with all of the privileges that attend to folks who can take a day off of work to show up in court. Right now, those kinds of $500 dispute is precisely the kind of claim that goes to whatever your state's small claims court is. Those courts are almost entirely disputes among parties that neither side is represented by counsel for the obvious reason that I hire a $500 dollar lawyer to show up at my ear.
