Can Boris Johnson Muster 120 Nominations?
I very much doubt that Boris Johnson would be able to muster the support of 120 members of parliament, not least because he's been out. And I think if they're sober, they'd have to wave the good and the bad. The good is he's marvellous in a crisis. He sorted Brexit. He dealt very well with the Ukraine war. But he didn't turn out to be an orderly prime minister. If you tried to obviate what the constitution says, it could be that only one candidate is nominated. Now, that's perfectly fine in terms of the constitution. You turn around to the members and say, well, So there's no need for a ballot
