In the early modern world, the acquittal rate is about 50% and in england it's about 75%. So if it's a way of getting at some one you don't like, it's not a very good way. And i think this is often where a lot of the emotion of the story comes in. There are actually things that stir people into action, just like really in macbeth,. everything is driven by these toxic emotions.
