Joseph of Aramathia and His Relationship to Jesus
Joseph of Arimathea went to Pilate and begged the body of Jesus. John 1939 reads, there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night. It reminds us back at the beginning of the gospel where Jesus has that night conversation with Nicodemos. And they, meaning NicodemUS and Joseph, were taking Jesus to the tomb as an act of devotion for him. The messianic utterance will find fulfillment in the appearance of the resurrected Lord when he returns in glory.
