How to Properly Expose Your Image

All you have to do is focus on keeping the background somewhat consistent, meaning shooting in that general direction and making sure that when you photograph somebody that they are within say three to eight feet away from you. Your exposure will never change because your flash is always going to fire the exact same amount. Practice this possibly at home by setting up a dark room with colored lights or just LED bulbs these days. You're going to see that they're backlit, but the flash on your camera.
