The Importance of Reason in Art

Schlegel: Just as each person has his own nature and his own love, so too does he carry his own Posey inside of him. He says that the exercise of reason by individual human beings is structured by some kind of critique, a science. Schlegel: We need the same kind of rigorous discipline, grammar, structure, whatever of Posey. Otherwise, all these individual Poseys are just going to be shooting off and developing crazy things.
