Genes Are Good at Surveillance
Oligo nucleotite has a backbone that's neutrally charged. It can displace the nascent strand from a target sequence and bind it with a very high affinity. The neutrality of the drug allows it to get close without being repulsed. If we can currently provide a dine donor strand along with our piane compound, we can actually do ultra high fidelity, in vivo genome editing by leveraging the cell's own machinery.
