We Shall Never Surrender

Churchill's final speech was made on the ninth of february 19 forty one before the usa had agreed to something called lendles. This meant that the americans would provide the military hardware that the british needed in order to fight the war. Churchill uses ancient and short words to get his point across, but also more recently imported into the language. He referred to the nances earlier on in the speech as such an odious apparatus, a hateful machinery. The repeated phrase, we fight builds towards the climax of never surrender. Not only is the fight described in terms of good against evil, there is also a powerful chord of optimism running through it.
