Jeremy Lenick: In order to get the best muscle gain that they possibly can, which is their goal, then no, I don't think that they need to do strength focused, like one rep max focused kind of training. He says it has probably less utility for that kind of a lifter or an athlete compared to the potential utility of a bodybuilding style hypertrophy period and psychological break. Watch out for session RP and the proximity to failure if you're doing too much weight lifting in this type of program he adds.
