Theoretic Estimates in Psychology
Theory is the thing that your analysis is trying to get at. In principle, it exists outside of statistical models. And so an estimate could just be self reported life satisfaction across a certain population in germany. But normally we are more interested in causal effects - like contrast between potential outcomes. So there's that thing we're interested in on the one hand, and our statisticall estimate on the other hand.
