direct revenue from the citizenship program now amounted to a staggering 43% almost half of the government's income. That money was vital during Covid when tourism dropped off a cliff. Today five Caribbean islands operate similar schemes but not everyone embraces this idea. Kaelin and Godzalz don't agree on much about this scheme but they do agree about the danger of dependency. Yeah it's of course a dependency but it's like being dependent on tourism for instance. The money comes easily and it goes easily. It is what binds us together. In a state this is the essential link between all our peoples, the highest office in the land."
