Is Google Translate Helpful in Conversation?

I would use an e-book and just touch the words and keep going. Even then, 50% is quite a lot. I'm kind of doing that now in Japanese. It helps me a lot to read the subtitles of movies. Reading will be less helpful for things like slang and idioms. But it's very helpful for vocabulary, spoken grammar which are important. You don't need really any kind of complicated apps. Just read and listen.
