Three defendants in this case, Joseph Fisher, Garrett Miller, and Edward Lang, who stormed the Capitol on January 6th. They were charged under 18 USC, Section 1512C2, which is corruptly obstructing an official proceeding. At the district level, Judge Nichols dismissed this charge, which was quite surprising because in about 70 cases already, defendants have been charged under that statute. No District Circuit Court judge has endorsed Judge Nichols's interpretation of 1512 C2.
