The Disadvantages of Edinburgh
Edinburgh has a complicated relationship with the Scottish identity, am I correct? It's traditionally quite anglicised. The most famous Scottish philosopher David Hume was an Edinburgh guy. And it's also a seat of Scottish romanticism which on one hand is a great national tradition. But then again, I mean, Gu Hongming is studying in Edinburgh. They don't really speak. There are bits of ancient Germanic language better preserved in Scots than modern English.
