Is the Human Community at the Coal Face of Conservation?

Are human communities sometimes forgotten even at the coal face of conservation? I think that's really quite interesting, that organisations don't feel that they can put those things front and centre. What we're hearing is a lot of doom and gloom and that's right, but we do need to hear more about the realities of conservation rather than bluntly seeing it on our screens.
